I saw one of those in either classic trucks mag or custom classic trucks mag. They were installing it on an older stepside of some sort on top of the rear fender...looked real smooth...

Really, I'm sure I saw it on one of those custom sites. I guess that would make sense, the boat thing I mean. Would it work on a truck though?

They are a PITA to fill unless its almost straight down and patient 1.25 in opening!

I've heard they're somewhat of a pain because you have to work with that little key to open and that if it gets hot and cold from weather it can be difficult to get open some times. Also you will have fuel dripping on your pretty wood bed when you try to aim for that little hole.

That being said I will probably put one on mine - aren't many alternative options if you don't have a side marker light in your fender.

I saw someone on the site has a larger fuel door, a few inches in diameter, that flips up in the bed floor. And then under that door (theirs was chrome or SS or something) was the filler.

Someone makes a filler for street rod pick-ups that is under the bed completely.Hinges let one board in the floor flip upto expose the filler.I think they even have a power version. It was in one of the street rod mags. When it's closed it's invisible.

I've got one in the bed to fill a No Limit tank. Works great. No problem filling and no problem opening when it's 120 degrees outside. Don't know about the cold we don't have to much of that here.

I got mine from a local marine supply store.. installed my blazer tank.. and tried to use one of those. It was a PITA.. dont fit properly. I think they are a 1 1/4" and the line for the blazer tanks is 1 3/8. I've still got mine sitting in my tool box.

Yep - very old mod

That first cap does look just like the Cool Cap. It wouldn't suprise me if the same company makes the Cool Cap with a nicer cap made just for them

A friend here has this one in his street rod truck. You don't even have to take the cap off to put gas in.
