Center Console Question (pics)

What should my center console look like. This is it from a previous photo some of you have already seen. It has been painted. My only guess is that the original owner painted it to match the seats but it looks like hell.

Any suggestions?

I am not a traditionalist so a bone stock look is not the most important thing. I prefer to make modern day upgrades that could have been or look like what should have been stock. I'll upholster it, sand it, paint it...you get my point.

I think it would look OK black again. Really it doesn't matter, as long as you strip it and use quality paint. If you want to upgrade it and don't care about 100% originality I would remove the seatbelt insert and add a cupholder insert from a 73+ console. It would look stock to most people and you would have cupholders.

I'd guess that your console was probably black originally. What color does the glove box tag say the interior is?

to fine the true color of it take it out of the truck and look at the bottom of it if it is also white scrap a place on the bottom of it and see what color it was ,most were black but there are other colors out there . as for cutting the seatbelt holders out of it, i wouldnt do that i would look for a differant one with cup holders and strip and paint the seatbelt one and sale it ,the seatbelt one is worth more than the cupholder is
