I'm bummin....Foolin around tonite and it happened. Doin a brake stand and then....clunk, clunk, clunk, clunk!!!! Sounds like I threw a bearing or two, this sound isnt right for a rod I dont think. She still runs, but it really scares me how loud it is. I can feel somethin hittin in the bottom of the oil pan while she's idleing. Just over a 1/4 gauge of oil pressure when it always ran dead on in the middle. It's for sure not the exhaust or anything like pulley's slapping. Of course it was dark though. Gonna drop the oil pan tomarrow and see what the damage is. Me and the buddies had just been talkin about how nice the engine sounded too. Funny how that works huh? Anyway....Hope your projects are'nt going as well as mine all of the sudden is. Damn, I shoulda kept her in the garage.

Just a noise may not be a concern but combine that with sudden low oil pressure sure sounds like a spun bearing. Maybe it is something less troublesome like a bent oil pump actuation shaft. I would not run it much more since you could do additional damage.

Could have dropped the pump in the pan too. Hopefully it wasn't running too long and seized the bearings. I had that happen before...hope there isn't too much damage. Poor wallet!

just by yourself a crate engine in the 400hp area and you'll have lots o fun

I did a burnout (sorta small one) just after I bought my truck on newer pavement to see if I had a posi or not. And then.... bang- bang- bang as I continued to drive home

. It turned out to be a wheel bearing but I could of swore it was coming from the rear end gears. And the verdict was...... no posi (lol). Hope it doesn't cost too much for ya but it don't sound good the way your describing it. Doug

Never know... An engine rebuild may satisfy you more that you think... just that the wallet and waiting would hurt...
