Temp gauge
I need a temp gauge and am not sure where to start. The truck I have came with no instruction or history so I don't have a clue where the gauge panel came from. It is obviously aftermarket because it has a printed circuit board, but that is all I know about it. Any ideas regarding who sells the repro/refurb gauge clusters? I thought that would be my first step.

The stock gauge panel has a blue flexible printed circuit board on the back of it, so your gauge panel may be stock. Do you just have speedometer and gas gauges right now? Are you wanting to upgrade to the stock gauge panel that has speedometer, gas, battery, temperature and oil (tachometer, vacuum also available), or do you just want to add on an aftermarket temperature gauge?

It may very well be stock. I just need to replace the temp gauge I have because it is not working. Right now I have a speedometer, fuel, battery, oil, and temperature (now broken).

You probably just need a new resistor for the temp gauge. I have restored many of these gauge clusters and that is almost always the problem. You can get the resistor from www.fix-a-gauge.com and that should fix the gauge, and if not you will then need to replace the gauge, after of course you are certain it is wired correctly or evenhooked up for that matter. To se if it is hooked up look on the drivers side head and there sould be the temp sending unit there with a green wire attached to it. If you remove the wire and ground it out to the block and the gauge goes all the way to hot as soon as you turn your key on then the wiring and gauge are good. Check these things first before you spring for a new gauge. I will have whatever you need to fix the problem once you are certain what the probllem is.
