Pic req: glovebox dash

heard a few members talk about making a "glovebox dash" or replacing the plastic gauge bezel & gauges with aftermarket gauges in a cut & modified glovebox door...curious to see if anybody actually followed thru with it and how it looked.

Hmmmmm, sounds interesting, I think most peeps probably just added
guages to the holes in the gauge cluster bezel, but I'm curious also

i've always wondered how people are mounting these things. countersunk holes would just be a hole, so do they weld on tabs?

I remember a couple of threads on it, but didn't have them saved.
I thought about doing that until I saw the new billet dash pieces that are now available

i got a few pics saved but how it's done is beyond me.

the teal/billet one and the red/billet one are weird because it looks like a billet overlay, but i can't see a bezel behind it. those came off ebay

Here is the back of the Dash you posted. I think the Board member's name is Javy. And it is made by another board member. I can remember his name though. Have it saved somewhere....But Where is the question!

with these old trucks theres enough room to put you gauges anywhere within the screw holes on the factory housing, therefore go wild use you own materials and make pretty bevelled corners, i once used black plexiglass as a backgroud for my custom fit guages and it won me a few trophies on interior alone not to mention it works great for battery covers and such
