Pic req: what rocker boxes are supposed to look like

Looking for a picture (or...a few dozen) of what the rocker boxes are supposed to look like on the bottom of a 69-72 K5...my underside, like so many others, is all gone and I don't have an idea of what things are SUPPOSED to be there much less how to start. I need pics to help me make a battle plan to take care of the rust on the underbody...

Sorry no pics but had to comment that I guess I am very lucky to have a south TX truck. The rocker boxes are original and complete. The outer rockers are shot however.

Good luck with the "re-creation"!!

Re: Pic req: what rocker boxes are supposed to look like

I JUST finished installing both rocker boxes on both side of my 72 Blazer this weekend. Gutting out the old stuff was not too bad. I took my time and went trough a bunch of cutting wheels on my angle grinder. I bought a lower cost angle grinder and it worked fine. I also bought a mig welder since having someone else do the welding for me would have cost more than buying the darn welder itself.

Making sure that you have all the sheet metal there is crucial unless you want to have to redo the entire thing five years down the road. Male certain that you POR the insides of the boxes and other sheet metal that you work on. If you do...the repair will outlast the rest of the truck.

Good luck...Rick
