67 GMC "time warp"
Just a few more pics of this clean little half ton that I just got. Always parked inside. All the lenses & needle colors are crisp, no dash pad cracks, no wear on the paint inside the doors etc. A really well cared for and unmodified original.

Re: 67 GMC "time warp"
Just continuing to detail and clean it up. Pulled off the front spare carrier and rear step bumper and canopy. Fresh paint on hubcaps & wheels. Looks different...kinda cool.

Re: 67 GMC "time warp"
Just plinking along on it...been detailing the inside of the cab...fresh seat/sills/pedals and a good clean up. Going under the hood next for more clean up, carb, ign, gaskets, paint, POR and power steering!
I found the build sheet under the seat. The owner's manual and metal warranty tag (forgot the name) in the glove box...good documentation. Last edited by PICKMUP; 11-15-2005 at 10:16 PM. |

Re: 67 GMC "time warp"
I really like the simplicity. After years of searching for the Holy Grail,I`ve always had a sft-spot for the more basic trucks.

Re: 67 GMC "time warp"
Protecto Plate, yeh, that's it...thanks. That was driving me nuts!
Did a little more prep on engine and started on PS. Pump w/brackets, double pulley alt, double pulley WP pulley...all cleaned, painted and on. The WP pulley was out too far because the rebuilt WP collar was not pressed on far enough. Big hammer and a little prayer and it moved in. The belts will match...I can't stand to see two different types. Who's anal? Next comes the PS box and hoses. Should be soon. Since this 67 has the later style frame, it will be a lot easier than most 67s. |

Re: 67 GMC "time warp"
God bless ya for saving one! Ya didn't take apart a perfectly good old pickup truck and put in a V-8 or a 3 speed shifter on the floor, lower it, put on 20 inch wheels...etc etc etc. OR, worse, take it all apart and let it sit out in the rain!! There's plenty out there already cobbled up for those that enjoy doing that. Good luck. Jim

Re: 67 GMC "time warp"
I do take apart some pretty good trucks, but when they are this nice I clean and detail them to just make them better. I just did the same thing to a 70 CST 3/4T with all original paint and straight as a pin. I am slowly putting a little 71 Cheyenne SWB fleet back together in original two tone colors, etc...but it is a little lower, engine dress up and modern wheels & tires...still looks very original.

Re: 67 GMC "time warp"
I have to agree. To many of these trucks are getting hacked on. Now of course the one I drive and have shown here is "custom" to say the least, but I have two more that are strictly resotations that are going to great eventually.
Pickmup... really like it, nice truck man.
