From what I have heard he is a stand up guy, I live in TN, but I do not
buy from him, no particular reason, I just like Tim Christian better.

Re: Need info on Jerry Brown/TheTruckShop,TN

He`s one of the Ol,Boys. He builds "better than new" trucks.Definately high-end.He`s built trucks for some country music stars, like Ricky Van Shelton. The other The Truck Shop (& The Car Shop) is a store-front of Counterpart. That`s what they sell and why they can offer better prices.I bought two doors for $400!!Those guys go to Jerry Brown for N.O.S.

Re: Need info on Jerry Brown/TheTruckShop,TN

He's been around a long time with high quality restored trucks for sale. last time I looked, he had restored buckets seats for $1,100.and his trucks were priced around $20,000.++ so ----his prices are way up there.
I prefer Tim Christian in Rogersville, Tenn or one of the other board sponsoring vendors (Motherstruckers, Wes, Bill, etc.). They sell the same quality but at much better prices---.

Re: Need info on Jerry Brown/TheTruckShop,TN

I met Jerry at Charlotte years ago before the board and the ones I've dealt with here. He has done this forever and knows his stuff. A guy from here drove his dumptruck to buy a SWB bed from him. $1000 15 yrs ago, thats before the repop ones. Jerry's restored trucks are some the best you ever see. He's one of 67-72's best

Re: Need info on Jerry Brown/TheTruckShop,TN

I`ll try to support the board vendors now that I`m into this site. But,no offense, there was life before the internet and guys like Jerry Brown,Seth Doulton,Jim Shenkle(truck builder extrordinare),Gary Terry, and countless others are what helped bring this hobby to the level it has become today.Without them many of the parts would never have become available again so that others might get into their truck parts businesses. We can`t just cast them off.

Re: Need info on Jerry Brown/TheTruckShop,TN

I met Jerry, toured his shop on Lantana rd. when I went down to visit my dad in Crossville. Real nice guy.

I walked away with a hard to find bracket I needed.

Man those trucks are REALLY done clean!!!!! I checked in EVERY nook and cranny and it was DONE!

My wife says they look better than they did when they were new.

Very correct trucks, and if you are looking for a turn-key ride, then $24,000.00 is actually a good price for that level of detail. I say that when comparing my stack up if time and dollars needed to do my restoration.

IMHO.

http://www.thetruckshop.com/contact_us_28.html

I did not talk to Jerry but I did talk to another fellow there named Jason and he did some bezel work for one of my customers a few months ago.

It does sound like they are doing well and business is good.

Hope this helps Tim.

Take care,
Tom

Re: Need info on Jerry Brown/TheTruckShop,TN

I've known and dealt with Jerry since we were both noticeably younger . Back in '05 I was needing to talk with him and started this threat as much to start chatter on him as much as getting contact info the easy way. I think the website had an extra letter added I was leaving out. Had lots more dealings since, both buying and selling, and they are live and kicking as ever. Jason is a casual member here and has been a great boost to Jerry's enterprise. If there was a 67-72 GM Truck hall of fame, I would nominate Jerry for sure.
