Be sure to watch TRUCKS! next week!
This may be old news already, but I just watched TRUCKS! on TNN. Next week they are starting on project Copperhead, a 1967 C-10!! They showed a quick shot of it, they are starting from a bare frame and working up from there! Should be cool!

Definetly looking forward to this because they have the money to do whatever to the truck and they show you how to. Hoping to get some ideas on mine. Bet the first thing is a disc upgrade.

They will start out with zero rust truck, not a ding or dent one on the body. They will have everything sent to specialty shops.
And they will probably buy and use the most expensive parts available. The truck will be worth close to 100k in parts and labor by the time they are done with it. But it will run good and look cool. Will see..... Ben |

It will be on July 14 at 11:00AM eastern.
They will be doing the frame and axle. The next week will be chassis and brakes.

Did y'all see the Willys jeep he did a while back? That thing was awesome! Wouldn't it be great to have an unlimited budget, and all the tools and room to build something exactly the way you wanted it?

Ya the truck should turn out awsome, unlimted money and all the right tools, must be nice, one thing that shop dosent need is hand soap cause hardly ever do there parts have an ounce of greece on them, hahaha

I did notice what looked like a brand new cab sitting in the background as well.
I would imagine there won't be a used part on it.

67Fleetsidedream - did you see the recent work Trucks did on the early Bronco. It was a basket case, rusted very badly and most panels were crashed. They used parts from two major Bronco parts sources that aren't high dollar places. Just good parts. This is probably the most down to earth auto show on TV right now. The probably aren't smart enough to know about the parts sources we know about, but I bet this will be a good buildup. I will have my VCR set to record.

I love it that they never get their hands dirty? I walk by my truck and get it on me somewhere...and I agree they have ridiculous budgets and the finished product is never worth their investment... but if it gets you to buy something... then I guess they have done their job.

These shows drive me nuts. It's like "This Old House" or "They Yankee Workshop", or especially "Crank and Chrome". Sure, you could turn out a beautiful piece of craftsmanship if you had a 4000 sq. ft. garage, every Snap-On tool ever made, the budget of a small city, and plenty of spare time (in which you're paid hansomly).
It is fun to see the conversions, and the ideas they have. You just can't get wrapped around the idea that you could do the same thing just as easy. For every second of filming for the show there's probably 4 hours of work to make it look simple.

It's too bad that the jerk that is now alone on the show has to have a giggle after he does anything. I think he only knows what he is told to say by the sponsors that give him all the parts and expertise. I watch the show, but think he is a real candyass.

what???doesnt everyone have a 4000 sq ft with a dyno and a hydraulic lift? :p I dont mind the puns and jokes. I like the idea that they show projects that they work on, especially the willys that they took off road and the v8 s10 extreme that they put together. Yeah you gotta admit that they make it look easy but hey so did bob vila :p
