Re: whats up with the forum?

Only people who contribute can post 4-sale threads or WTB threads from now on. I personally think it is a good thing, after all...if it wasn't for this site, lots of people wouldn't have made the money they did...for free. On top of that, hopefully it will keep the dishonest sellers at bay.

Re: whats up with the forum?

$25 whole dollars for a year. Try running an ad in the local classifieds for that.

Re: whats up with the forum?

very good idea with the sales boards i agree 25.00 aint squate compared to a classified like krue said i will be sending some $ before long myself because i too have way to much extras for these trucks that i need to get rid of after the truck is back on the road. my one concern is can i still buy stuff off the site without contributing right away? thanks in advance this site is great and could never be replaced. IMHO!

Re: whats up with the forum?

I give the 25, just because its the right thing to do. Advice from this site has already saved me about 300.00 if I count it right.

Re: whats up with the forum?

I haven't tried to post yet because I don't need to buy or sell anything right now. However, I have contributed $5 or $10 in the past just because I wanted to. Does that mean I can post, or do I have to give more now?

Re: whats up with the forum?

Gotta purchase a 25 dollar subscription, which gives you many benefits including the ability to post for sale / wanted ads in all of the classifieds sections, along with a larger PM inbox etc. PM Josh or Liz if you've got any questions

Re: whats up with the forum?

Just a note in case any of the mods are looking - check out my signature. Not a very graceful import there

Seriously though, it seems as if some characters didn't make the conversion OK. I'll update later.

Saw that in one of Josh's post yesterday. I'm sure he knows. He spent a lot of time here Saturday so he may be a little burnt out on it.

Re: whats up with the forum?

I guess I am confused also. A while back I sent $25 because it's what I felt I would contribute to the board. It's a good board and I like to see it continue. I didn't think of it as a subscription, just a donation. I have not bought or sold a part and don't know if I will. I don't have a problem with the $25 but if it's a subscription, will i be notified when it's up? i don't remember how long ago I sent the money to Josh. How often will we be required to renew? What areas will be subscription and what won't.
Maybe the rules have been spelled out elsewhere and i missed them. Is this subscription just for the buying and selling of parts or access to all areas of the board.?
I have a feeling I am not the only one confused by this.

Re: whats up with the forum?

Subscription names are in BOLD, and you get more PM space, a slightly
larger AVATAR, and of course the right to SELL in the parts section.

As for the WHOLE board, it is FREE to browse, respond, buy, etc........

If you go in user cp and scroll down to paid subscriptions it tells you the start date and end date of your subscription.

Okay, my name is not in bold so I guess whatever I gave in the past doesn't count.

Greenlee PM Josh and he can look it up for you. Subscription benefits started in feb 05, and there is a sticky post on 67-72message area about it.

Re: whats up with the forum?

Search will be back soon thanks to the members who have subscribed for $25 and donations etc. It is in the works now.

But to answer that no. Subscriptions are not available for search, when search is on it crashes the site right now.

Okay.... thanks.... I'm not much in to selling parts but would gladly donate 25 per year if it meant search would work.
