I'm so happy...
This weekend I went to my first swap meet. I picked up a bunch of stuff to build my motor.
Fresh Vortec Heads with new valves 2.02, 1.6. and roller rockers, Edelbrock intake, HEI Dist, 8.8mm wires, factory valve covers, and all the Valve train parts, a 2pc timing cover and a mint Outer grill surround. I spent $650 Canadian, I think I did OK, what do you think?

Re: I'm so happy...
$520 US
Even if it is high, it would take me a long time for me to find all of that stuff at a better deal. I'm still happy.

I believe you made a heck of a deal, as the vortec heads alone go for 5 bills and all the extra valve train components are gravy, and we haven't even gotten to the grill surround. Wait a minute, you got taken, so I'll give you the $550US or so and take it all off of your hands!! Just kidding, you made a smoking deal! Mike |

you made out good. My experience with swap meets are that they are either goldmines or total bombs. looks like you hit the goldmine

Re: I'm so happy...
You did awesome! I went to a swap meet this weekend and came home with an old model kit and a tin sign for the garage wall. My truck may not look any better, but my garage is getting pretty fancy.

I did miss out on some better deals, Being a swap meet virgin, I didn't buy right away when I seen some things, I wanted to see the hole show first. Funny thing though, the wife is OK with it? Did anyone see any bright lights come by and take the real woman that I married and leave this one? I can't wait for the next one.

I do not think you'll find one of those at the swap meet! I saw a nice one at a car show that Boyd Coddington built years ago. I posted picts, I think in the Blazer message board about hot cars Boyd.... anyways if you want to see what you might be in for check it out, and good luck. I too am on a quest, does anyone out there know where I might find a nice 67 chevelle!? they too are going for stupid money on evilbay. |

Re: I'm so happy...
heh, is this for the wife or you?
I know of a few nice ones pretty cheap in California. Might cost and arm and a leg to ship though. |
