Shifting Linkage Loose

Ok so I still have a problem with my shifting linkage but maybe somoene can help out. Ok so the rod that goes down to the transmition and attaches at the top to the collum it just slides around.



the part with the yello circled around it, is there susposed to be something on that end of the rod that keeps that clamp type thing on the rod, like if I shift into park it will fall out of that holder thing, and if I shift to like 1 it will slide along it.

Do you get what I am saying???

It looks like you are missing a spacer. Between the lever and the rod is the cupped washer which clamps the rod inplace when you tighten the nut. There should be a spacer between the lever and the cupped washer.

when you tighten the nut it clamps the rod in place sounds like you need an washer to take up the space I agree with ^^^^ him

easyest way to make sure to get everything adjusted right get the trans sift linkage in park and put gearsifth in park and you good to tighten everything down

It's called a "wavy washer".

It's a washer shaped like a Pringle's potato chip.

oh so that dip in the rim of the bolt is to be aligned with the rod I didnt even notice that wavy part maybe that is the culpret I will look at it this evening and see if that is what it is.

Check that but I think you also need the extra washer. Here's a fuzzy pic of mine. I don't know if it is stock but it works.
