Oil Pan Removal ?
Can the 350 CI oil pan be removed on our trucks, without lifting the engine up or out completely?

I was told it has to come up a few inches at least
 Just unbolt the two mounts, the trans mount and lift a little |

I think you can if it is a 4 wheel drive but other wise you have to un-bolt motor mounts and trans mounts. Just take the bolts out that go through the frame then put a bottle jack under the balancer then put a 2by4 inbetween the mount and frame and take the inspection cover off. Then you should be able to get the pan out.

Make sure you secure the engine once you've lifted it. You can very easily loose fingers if a bottle jack fails while you've got your fingers up there.

jack it up and take an 2x4 and cut an slit in it for the bolt and place it in between the motor mount and frame it will hold engine up

be careful of the distributor cap if it is close to the firewall or you might crack it before you realize it.

Unbolt the fan shroud too or you will crack it when you jack the engine.
