Pics of how the factory mounted the ECM?
Hey guys!
I'm looking into re-wiring my TPI pretty much entirely. I'm wanting to know how the factory mounted the ECM behind the glove box, and wether that mount is something I can retrofit onto my old airbox, or if it is moulded into the airbox. Basically, I wanna put all my relays, and a small fuse box from a mid 80's buick Century with TBI in behind my glove box, along with all my modules etc. My current install is, in my opinion, messy and too visible. If I do it the way I want, I should be able to have all my relays, modules etc all hidden behind the glove box up against the air box, with only sensory / actuatory wires going out to the TPI intake.

Re: Pics of how the factory mounted the ECM?
The ESC module in my 85 Silverado is mounted behind the glovebox and above the airbox, basically mounting to a metal "plate" attached to the dash frame. I'll see if I can find a snapshot of it.
I snagged a TBI ECM from an '87 a year or so ago, and it mounts in the same manner as my ESC. If nobody gets you a pic, you might consider tracking down an ESC/ECM truck at the wreckers to have a look. Last edited by FLAGG; 10-22-2005 at 01:56 AM. |
