Re: Quad. and Edelbrock intake choke

Both of my intakes came with a plate that bolted to the intake for the choke. The choke from the factory intake should bolt/screw right on to this plate. It seems like I had to flip the rod(turn the part that faced the outside of the truck to the inside, not flip top to bottom) to make it fit. Once you get it where it fits I think the rod has to be bent to adjust the choke. I could be wrong about the adjustment procedure. Both of my trucks have the ebelbrock intake and they both run a factory choke. I also do not run the factory cover that goes over the spring part of the choke.

Re: Quad. and Edelbrock intake choke

You need the Edelbrock choke adapter (part number 8901). Edelbrock also sells a choke rod that will fit correctly (part number 9171). You can order these from www.summitracing.com.

Re: Quad. and Edelbrock intake choke

I have a divorced choke on my stock intake and q-jet The rod that I have keeps the choke plate in a straight up verticle position. I have always thought the rod was too long not sure. That part # for that rod from summit should help.

Re: Quad. and Edelbrock intake choke

Your stock rod will work. Both of my trucks have the stock rod on them and the choke functions on them both.
