Im having trouble removing my ignition switch so i can redo my dash. Ive read somewhere before about the piunhole but I forgot the exact way to do it. Thanks for any help on this.

Use a paperclip or section of welding rod to push in on the spring in the hole. every switch i've worked on, the spring seems to be in a slightly different position, but its somewhere near the accessory position. you got to push in the spring, and rotate the entire assy to get it out... takes time and patients

Like he said Paper clip ( wire) in hole turn toward Ass. Sometimes a little WD 40 helps .

You are working on one of the most hateful items on a chev truck. I just spent way too much time on one yesterday!
When you turn the key to acc, you then have to keep the spring loaded pin pushed in while you wiggle and pull on the key to get the center of the lock to release. Try loosening the bezel to take pressure off, but the lock has to come out before the bezel can come completely off.
When I went to put it all back together, the new lock would not work with the new switch from a different company

Even finally had to file the holes bigger so the factory harness/contacts would go in.
Put a little lube/antisieze on the bezel threads. They are really fine and cross thread easily.
When you put it back together, just push the center lock into the acc position and turn to the right...it locks itself.

Alright, well I have a slight problem. I bought this dash that I am restoring from "Burnsman", it has the ignition switch in the dash and I want it to come out to put in the new one. The problem, I dont have the key to the ignotion. hehe. Now what do I do?

No key? I usually use a cut off wheel and cut the switch into a couple pieces and just replace all with new parts. Don't cut the harness or tabs/fingers that lock the harness to the switch housing.
