Question

looks more like a P.T.O. shaft of some kind, or maybe a steering shaft for a tilt cab.

Isn't that a 4X4 front axle from outer U-joint to wheel?

I think your right with the outer shaft, I though by ad description I was looking a a column shaft until i saw pic

How about that? I knew something Fast didn't. Of course it helped that I replaced one of these on my '78 4X4 about 15 years ago. Still I'm kind of surprised I remembered. I get those "senior" moments now and then. It seems like most of you guys on this board are in your 20's and 30's.
