goodwrench crate motor is in!

stock is 250, according to chevy high performance they got 265hp and 350ft lbs out of this motor just by adding headers, edelbrock intake and better exhaust out the back.

well i only have 25 miles on it so far so i havent really ripped into it. but i must say it runs super smooth, sounds great through my hooker headers and flowmasters, and with the 3.73 posi i can leave some goooood tire marks not even at full throttle.

truck runs so much smoother i love it. now i just have to worry bout the $1720 thats going to show up on my next credit card statement.... errr....

I just got a 350 crate motor too. I plan on putting in next weekend. I have heard that these motors have been fired up at the factory, before they ship them out. Does anyone know if this is true? Is the oil pump primed? Valves set? etc. Before I fire this new motor, is there anything I need to do besides pour in oil.

Don't quote me and make sure you check everything, but I think they come with oil and the valves are set. I would prime it just to be safe.

I bought a goodwrench crate motor a year ago or so. The oil pump was primed, the valves set ect. It ran great. I wanted more so I added:
Edelbrock performer RPM heads
Comp 280 magnum cam
Proform 1.5 Roller Rockers
Performer RPM intake
Dynomax Ceramic coated headers
40 series flow master's
750 holley doublepumper
MSD ignition

This is with a 700r4 with a 1650 stall converter and mild shift kit.
3:73 open rear(someday an Eaton Posi).

I love the combination.
Brought it to the paint guy Saturday.
Will Post pic's when its back from the paint shop.
