Another Texan
I've posted a couple times but haven't had any pics until now. I wish I had some "before" pics but don't have my scanner hooked up yet.
This has been a 5-6 year project that was started and I worked like crazy until I found how badly the cab was rusted - the A pillars behind the lower kick panels were rusted away along with half of the cowl, firewall, etc. I gave up on it for about 1.5-2 years because of the rust. Finally I decieded to just fix it and move on. Everything but the hood and bed has been painted Hot Rod Black (not primer but not high gloss either). I am gathering parts and am starting to put together whenever time allows. The pics are a little dark and will try to post better ones in the future. Plan/Look of the truck is to be my daily driver/shop truck/hot rod - 4/6 drop, front disc, rear gas tank, SBC, 700R4, tilt wheel, A/C (Vintage Air), Halibrand wheels - nothing fancy or too trick but not stock either. |

Re: Another Texan
I dig it. Post yout pics to a free share server like photobucket.com and we can all enjoy them in full size. My '61 has been a pretty long term project too. Looks like you've got some dynamat installed. Can't wait to be at that stage! Stick it out and it will be well worth it!

Re: Another Texan
Thanks, wish the pics where a little brighter - need to push outside to take them.
FF - I did use photobucket, guess I did something wrong - I'm mostly a computer dummy - thought I followed directions properly but obviously not. EC - I'm from San Antonio - Work for Vintage Air - Tech Support - More than willing to help anyone out with A/C questions or how to put a custom A/C system together. Will post pics of the truck/AC system as it goes together - hopefully with bigger pics. Mark |

Re: Another Texan
If you are at all into the traditional side of hot rodding, check this place out:
www.jalopyjournal.com Go to the HAMB and do an intro, they need someone like you over there. |

Re: Another Texan
I like almost anything with wheels - I surf the HAMB site often. Been to the Round-up in Austin 2 out of the 4 years they have had it - great show and plan on going next year with or w/o the truck. Most of the guys on HAMB have open cars or think A/C is not traditional so they are not too interested but have sold a few systems to them, mostly heaters.

Re: Another Texan
To load your photos at a viewable size. Works best if you have a resizer program. Freeware is available. MS has one, supposed to be easy to use. I use one from www.irfanview.com . Resize the pics to 640x480, gives an image small enough to upload, but big enough to view.

Re: Another Texan
OK since they were so small I didn't even notice they were not attached...
You linked your thumbnails. I like to open the fullsize and rightclick/properties copy the URL from there. Or, you can do what you did and remove the "th_" in front of the image name in the URL. Here's your full size pics: |
