Question Bed wood

i have a 1969 C20 long bed and i was just wondering the dimentions of the wood for the bed cause i can either make it for $180 of buy the kit for 600

That and there is a guy on these boards that sells kits for 315 he will surely post shortly.

I just read GMC Paul's article about the wood floor beds. Anybody ever thought about trying the "fake" wood decking like they use for outdoor wooden patios? JC

I heard of a guy who used a couple pieces of nice veneer plywood, routed strips into it, and inlaid stainless steel bars, then stained and varnished, used it as a bed cover for shows.
