My 1983 4x4

New to the board and had to show my truck. It is a 1983 Silverado with 1990 9.5" 6 lug rearend and original 10-bolt front with 1989 Blazer axleshafts. Both are 4.10's with a Eaton in back and a Lockrite in front. The motor is a 400 sbc with a Scat crank, 6" rods and KB flat-tops. It has a Comp 282HR cam with 1.6 rockers. The heads are ported 487X heads with a port-matched Dart Kool-Kan intake and a Demon 750VE. The ignition is HEI with Petronix internals. It has port-matched Flowtech Afterburner headers with 3" Flowmaster. The tranny is a T350 with a 2800stall and the transfer case is the factory 208. It has the BIG diesel radiator with Flex-a-lite electric fans.

Sweet looking truck. I ;like any and all 4x4 trucks but I love to see them in some mud or covered in mud. What size lift and tires are you running?

Re: My 1983 4x4

Right now it has a 4" lift (all spring) with 33" boggers. Getting set of 35" boggers this winter. Here is another picture

Re: My 1983 4x4

I plan on not lifting it anymore since the suspension is SO STIFF and easily clears the 33's but the extra width of the 35-14.5 I am looking at might catch the fenders. Looking at running the 35-10.5 on 8" rally's which will help me more in mud drags. Power not a problem as it turns right at 6200rpm in Drive in low range with 33's now in the bogs.
