Wanted - heavy duty frame degreaser/cleaner ?

Gonna powerwash my frame tommorow, need a heavy duty cleaner/degreaser that is commonly available. I am open to homebrew concoctions too. I usually use Simple Green, but wondering if there is some more heavy duty ? I was thinking like laundy or dish soap, How bout that TSP "subsitute" stuff ? Gonna mix it up in a garden sprayer, spray it, let soak then powerwash. Thanks for your help.

Super clean is some pretty awsome stuff, but I'd do that as a second wash.
I'd use easy off for the first go at it.

I have used Easy-Off oven cleaner and it works pretty well in conjunction with a high pressure washer. It may take several applications but does a decent job. I used a entire can on my engine which was really dirty.

Go to the dollar store and get yourself some oven cleaner. Get the stuff that cost a dollar a can. it works just as good as the expensive stuff.

If you have undercoating on your frame it is going to take something a little more aggressive like chemical paint stripper. You can get some suitable water soluble chemical strippers at Home Depot or the industrial stuff at you auto body paint store. If you don't want to use those there are other ways to clean the undercoat off...like a heat gun and putty knife. Mineral spirits and steel wool will get the last bit off.

Re: Wanted - heavy duty frame degreaser/cleaner ?

It's all in the amount of pressure you use. Take frame to a carwash and ask owner to turn pressure up to about 1500 psi. Use the soap/hot water function and that should blast all the gunk off the frame. If your pressure washer doesn't provide 1500 psi, then the cheap $ Store oven cleaner is the way to go. Works better when it's warmer. JC

Easy off works good. DO NOT GET IT IN YOUR EYES IF IT IS WINDY. Kerosene is not bad for the first wash, if you let it soak. Castrol Super clean is great for the last wash. Rent a power washer that is heated if you can for best results.

oven cleaner has worked very well on my frame off. Make sure you don't spray is in the wind and get it in your eyes.........experiance speaking here.
may take several applications. In the tough places spray and leave overnight

Oven cleaner gets my vote too. I've tried Simple Green and the oven cleaner is better by far.
