I've been debating for about 6 months about what lift I'm going to do. I owned a 70' on 35's almost 10 years ago. Can't remember how big the lift was...but it looked juuuuuust right for 35's. I currently have a 72' on 33's. I'm wondering what I should do.

I'm sorry to say that in 1997 when I sold my 70' I had just purchased some Skyjacker springs with 4" springs for the front and 6" for the rear, I never installed them and sold the Blazer with the springs laying on the floor. The manufacturer told me to add 2" in the rear on Blazers. I have noticed many 4/6 lifts on 33's.

Here I am many moons later and I'm stuck on what to do. I have a photo below that all of you may have seen a few times. I saw that awsome blue GMC last week on here and it looked great with what appeared to be a 2" or so in front and a 3" in the rear. Then I saw this red one saying he had a 4/6 lift. Both from what I remember were on 33's.

I'm looking for recommedations guys. What do I do.

If you do "Show us your lift" we must know what size tires, how big of a lift(front and rear) and if it's blocks in the rear or springs. This will help me decide what to do.

Here is the Red one. Looks great. I'm just worried about driveability. Thanks guys in advance for letting me put your Blazers and Jimmyz up for scrutiny. No big head mmmmkay.

Here is the Jimmy. Clearly a more mild set up but not stock like mine. Both look great. I'm curiouse as to what the numbers are behind both. I think the red one was a 4/6 with 33's, what about the Jimmy, what size lift is it?

Here's one more picture of mine 4" Tuff Country ez ride springs in front, 4" bolcks and add-a-leafs in the back, 33" tires on 15x 10 rims. I haven't had any driveability problems with this setup, I've been driving it like this for about 4-5 years. It really dosen't ride or drive any worse than stock.

4" FRT. ROUGH COUNTRY SPRINGS
6" REAR ROUGH COUNTRY SPRINGS
35 X 12.5 X 15 BFG'S ON 15 x 8'S

ONLY HAVE 50 MILES ON HER, BUT SHE DRIVES GREAT

The consensus always seems to be:

33's on stock suspension works but you shouldn't really wheel with it.
33's with a 4" lift looks/works/drives pretty good all around. (my vote)
35's with a 4" lift works also but wheeling is limited.
35's with a 6" lift works good again but some drivability issue's arise.
Plus if it's a concern for you, the "hop in" factor having 35's & 6" lift is something to think about in a daily driver.

Don't forget the gearing thing also...if you have say 3:08's and go 35's, you'll be driving a real dog.

Here's one with a 4" all spring lift w/33's
33's are on 10" wheels that have 4" back spacing.
Final gear is 4:11 and yes it will travel down the interstate @ 65mph no problem. Not much faster though...

Yep, comparatively speaking you are, put in some 4:11's and have some real fun.

Sure you can smoke 'em, cause your pushing 450hp, you Ba$tard.

For my needs Vt's light green has the stance I'm looking for. My conern is having a sagging rear end. I prefer a level truck over a sag in the rear. I would even rather have the rear just slightly higher than have it sag. I think I'm gonna have to do a 4/6 lift and go from there.

Here in Souther Ca we have a huge supply of custom spring makers. I'm not calling souther Ca the 4x4 capital but if you open up any 4x4 magazine a lot the adds in the back are Southern Ca companies. It must have something to do with Glamis being so close. This weekend it's large city with 200k visitors all going to do some desert wheeling. I wish we had more open land like the rest of you guys. Too many enviro's out here.

I will probably do some Deaver springs. They are out of the LA area and have a nice product. A bit expensive but that's the way it goes right?

My '72 has 4" lift (block & helper springs in rear). Stock 238/85/16 tires & wheels. It has a bit of squatty butt syndrome. I don't mind though with the psydo-stock look. I might go to 33's some day with the stock wheels & tires, but I've only got 3.07's so I would need to put in at least 3.73's

My '69 has 6" block and 35's. It has a nice stance with no rear sag. It has 4.10's which are just right for the 35's.

Sure 3:73's would be better but if your inclined to try it, go ahead.
I had the 3:07/w 33's combo for a couple years under my daily driver K5 and it wasn't so bad at all on paved streets & highways.

I don't foresee this truck ever seen much more than a dirt road. When/if I step up to 33's, I'll probably run the stock gears for a while to see how bad it is.
