So, I have decent 68 grille, fenders and hood. My inners and radiator support are junk.

Can you use a 71 radiator support with 68 fenders, hood and grill?

I already own a 71 repop rad support...

NO.

Sorry- you need a 67-68 radiator support.

Where is the difference? I understand it's huge in the cowl to hood.

I also have the 71 hood latch and all of that.

Study the two pictures closely. Notice on the 67-68 support, the headlight bucket mounts straight to the core support. On the later unit, there is a stamped bracket between the core support and the bucket.

Also, there are provisions along the bottom of the 67-68 support for the lower grill splash pan to bolt to.

heh, I have a plasma cutter and a welder. I can fix that!

No issues with the fenders lining up? Height, etc? Would running 71 headlight buckets fix that?

I've been told, can't verify, that even if you overcome the bucket differences, the holes in the support for the headlights are in a different place between the two.

Ok, that sucks. So you have to pull the trim off to adjust the headlights?
