Re: tranny fluid

If I remember correctly, the factory said 25,000 miles under severe use. Most of us fall under the severe use category.

Re: tranny fluid

how much life does it take off the fluid if the engine is over heated? since there is a cooler in the rad it will effect the fluid wont it? i broke a fan belt and ran it overheated for about 10-15 min.

Re: tranny fluid

and overheating engine will heat the trans fluid as well.i would pull the dipstick and look at the fluid. if its birght cherry red dont worry about it. if its turning brownish change it. all manufacturers now reccomend a transmission flush every 30,000 miles. vehicles that have this done have transmissions that live a lot longer.
