A Little Progress

I got tired of not having an automatic kickdown on my th400 so today I installed a WOT nitrous switch to serve as one, EE-Z and works like a charm. Also, recently added a new steering wheel. What do you guys think?

Re: A Little Progress

That is a *****in' truck. Got any more exterior shots? If my truck was white that is exatly how I would want the interior.

Re: A Little Progress

I think that's a really great truck, and the rallys fit the theme perfectly..

BTW, it looks like you need a new alternator belt, the alternator looks to be adjusted all the way to the end of the slot.

Re: A Little Progress

I am thinking about doing the same thing as I have a th400 with no switch hooked up can you tell me what switch you used and is it as easy as one wire to hot and one wire to tranny? Do you like driving it better now?
Really nice rig by the way.

I am using Alan Grove outboard brackets, I can see how that would look adjusted all the way in the pic. Thanks for looking out for me though.

I used a NOS brand switch, part# 15640NOS, that comes with a bend to fit bracket. In reality you could just buy a micro switch at radio shack and make your own mount. I simply ran 14 gauge wire from ignition hot on my fuse block to the switch and from the switch to the trans, and yes I like it much better now.

Re: A Little Progress

Hey I hate to say this now but...
I have one of the original switches that mount to the firewall and the harness for it if you need it.
Let me know.

Re: A Little Progress

Does the switch just energise the tranny and it downshifts and that is it? Then it goes back to is normal shift pattern? It does not hold it down untill you let out of the throttle does it?
