Arrow Seeking: Electronic Copies of Manuals/Diagrams/Info

Looking for links to electronic drawing/copies/scans of things for our trucks.

I have been looking for .pdfs, .jpgs, or whatever for our trucks, rearends, etc.
I have found some stuff, but I assume that there is probably a good deal out there that I won't even know how to look for it.

I was going to make a CD(s) that I could take with me on trips and such, so when I have extra time I can read through the manuals and such. I figure that maybe others might want them also. My intent is to put the stuff on CDs for everyone here in the forum, especially the guys with dialup connections.

I make these kind of CDs for the guys at work for years to study for their promotion tests. Every test cycle the guys are seeking me out for the newest version. Maybe it is because I also make them for FREE...

I want to see if I can do the same for our trucks.

If anyone wants to help, let me know.

Boyd

Be careful. If you try to use stuff scanned from licensed books (factory manuals etc) its copywrited.

Thanks Farside, I'll keep that in mind.
I will ask for permission, if it is something like that.

I still intend to collect the information and share it with womever wants a copy.

That was half the inspiration of the project.

When I was last deployed there were periods of time when there was not any thing around worth reading (and unfortunately the military does not grant bandwidth for web browsing/surfing for most personnel, just email).
This reference disc is something that you would not have to have bandwidth for to read about the great modifications and tech stuff with the 67-72 truck.

I guess it will be like all my other CDs, people will have to see it to fully comprehend the idea. You'll be pretty amazed at my handy work, I believe.

Lots of CD's of parts and interchange manuals on ebay now...at about $10 bucks a piece..but I'd rather pay ten times that amount for real books that are harder to find.

Here a quick search ..didnt find any truck parts ones today only interchange.

Same here.
But, I rather have a electronic copy to search and print pages from to use in the garage (so as not to gease-up the book).

Just like you said, they are getting harder and harder to find. Eventually, enough wives are going to get rid of the books and we are never going to find any originals.

If I am unable to find copies, I will start converting the manuals myself, if I can even find them at all. There are probably so many different manuals, suppliments, and parts lists out there that it's a shame not to be able to use them, because that is exactly what they are for: to be referenced and used to make it easier to repair the truck!

There is so much detailed knowledge out there in books and phamplets that were printed decades ago, it is a shame that everyone can not have access to it.
