Re: Rear Window Help

Both are do-able. The rear is naturally a little easier since it isn't curved. I did both of mine myself...alone!! Having a second set of hands would really help you out though.

Re: Rear Window Help

Are there any specific tips to pass along for the rear window. My thought is put the gasket on the bottom, seat the window in the bottom and then work to the top. I am just not sure what tools to use.

Re: Rear Window Help

It would almost depend on the condition of the seal. If you have a new seal that is very flexible, then you can use some string (roughly the size of lawnmower crank rope) and do as you were planning anyway....using the rope to pull the seal over the metal lip as you go.
I did my rear with a narrow paint scraper. I sat it in the opening, bottom first, and worked my way up both sides towards the top. SLOW & STEADY.

I used the same rope on the front. I placed it deep in the rubber seal channel so that both ends were on the bottom center, then applied some slick liquid (KY jelly, dish washing soap, etc...)
Sat it in bottom first and started pulling the rope out towards the ends. Pressing the glass and seal deeper and deeper onto the bottom lip until it bottomed out. I used the flat scraper to place the outer (exterior) flap of the seal as I went also. I worked my way up to one corner and ended in the other. Worked out great.
