Brake Booster Brand?

When I redo my truck this winter I want to add power brakes. I can get a remanufactured booster through work, but there are two different ones for my application in the catalog. One is from Delco Moraine and the other is from Bendix. They are within a few cents of each other in price. Anyone know what the difference could be? Thanks!

Re: Brake Booster Brand?

look on the side of your prop valve. it will say either bendix or delco moraine. get the booster that matches the rest of your brake system. my 1/2 ton with disk front brakes had bendix parts on it.

Re: Brake Booster Brand?

I know they look a little different, and IIRC the Delco was a gold/silver color and the Bendix was painted black.

Re: Brake Booster Brand?

I don't have power brakes at the moment, and am adding them, so looking at the booster is out, but the proportioning valve thing might work. Where abouts under the truck is it?

Re: Brake Booster Brand?

I think the booster bracket will determine which booster to use. When mine went I picked up a bendix and the bolt pattern was a little different and had to trade it for a delco. Here is a pic from TX FIREFIGHTER post. Your
proportioning valve is the valve right under your master cyl. Hope this helps. John

Re: Brake Booster Brand?

So basically all I have to do is buy the bracket and rod to match the brand on my proportioning valve, then buy the master cylinder to match? Do any vendors sell the bracket and rod I need?
