Airplane steering.
This is getting old.
This will be the 3rd time in tightening the screws in my 91 steering colum. I can get to 2 of the 3 bolts that tighten it. Problem is, the 2 pins on the 7 and 4 o'clock positions. I cant get the one on the right out. I've even tried a dent puller. It just wont budge. Is there a trick to getting it out? The other one slid out with no problems. I wanna put some thread locker on these bolts. But, It seems pointless to do it if I can only get to 2 bolts.

Re: Airplane steering.
red loctite will prevent them from loosening up they do make pullers that thread into the pivot pins to aid in removing them you may try one of these to see if it helps you to remove the other pin.

Re: Airplane steering.
Thats why I said I got a dent puller and tried to pull that pin out. I threaded a screw into it and pulled it.
wouldnt move.

Re: Airplane steering.
a pivot pin puller is not a dent puller it applies pressure to the side of the column while tightening down the center bolt that applies pressure to the pivot pin that is why I suggested trying a puller made specifically for removing tilt column pivot pins.

Re: Airplane steering.
I realize the tool you are talking about now.
I found one at Murry's. Worked great. I appreciate it.
