Re: how much $$$ do ya think you got in your ride?
$1700 to buy it
$500 engine/propane system $1400 to instal and do body work $50 tow for parts truck ------------- $3650 Probably right around $4G after maintenance and the like. $300 for roll pan (payed for by insurance, so that doesn't make the tally)

Re: how much $$$ do ya think you got in your ride?
Too much and more than it's worth. Bought it 6 years ago as daily beater ($2200) and have since replaced the engine, front suspension, two sets of tires, and more repairs than I can remember. I would guess total investment is somewhere around $4000-$4500. It would prolly bring less than $1500 because of the rust issues.

Re: how much $$$ do ya think you got in your ride?
I bet I have at least 15K in mine...probably will hit 20 before it is all said and done.
But I built it with mostly new or NOS parts, and quality in mind. I still love it.

I probably have $15K for just the latest iteration, and it is still just a rolling chassis.

Re: how much $$$ do ya think you got in your ride?
I was counting up my receits a few years back. I stoped around $14,000 in parts alone since the truck was given to me. I can add quite a bit more to that now but I dont want to think about it.

Re: how much $$$ do ya think you got in your ride?
well two diffrent answers fits this how much bumper to bumper is prolly 6,500 and not drivable yet, how much since i recieved it way more than i want to no and i chalk that amount up to lack of education of knowing how to rebuild a motor correctlly and to a salvage transmission. prolly about 12,000 total and it looks like a piece of crap oh yeah a front end collision hit and run, to a head on at fourty while i was sitting still. (really llloooonnnngggg story) to the fram breaking due to the wrecks man you guy have just depressed me i think i need to go home and work more on the truck so that i can forgit this post ever existed

Re: how much $$$ do ya think you got in your ride?
Dont you guys know that you never tell how much you have in something. Its just one of those things that should never be talked about, someone should close this thread..hahaha
Its best to just not keep up with it, because you will never got back what you have in something if you build it yourself, the thing to do is buy someone elses money pit cheap and turn it for a profit. Not that I would ever do that, but it sounds like a good idea.lol |

Re: how much $$$ do ya think you got in your ride?
Hey Bagged74,
I know all to well what you are saying. I have approx. $24,600.00 in my truck and it is sitting in my garage in a million pieces. But we love our trucks and all the Blood, Sweat, and Tears that we put into them makes the money issues a little easier to handle when we see the finished project.

Re: how much $$$ do ya think you got in your ride?
as long as i have had my 68C10 add up the parts and labor i have put into it, subtract the money it has made for me should put it somewhere around 1700$. thats is soon to change though, it goes into the shop for a full frame off in January, then it will be retired from my work force for awhile.
84C10 now K10 and my 88K5 now C/K5 purchased both for 350$ Blazer 2wd conversion w/ reman 350 cost around 1000$, traded 84C10 for a fresh black paint job. 84C10 to K10 conversion so far has cost 15$ and it should not get much more than that (the guy i traded it to is now paying for its assembly). So all together i have got about 1365$ into these trucks with plans to lower and get new wheels for the blazer.

Re: how much $$$ do ya think you got in your ride?
Truck = Inherited
Engine = $2000 (All said and done including Misc. Things) Suspension = $1000 (Including PST Bushing Kit) Wheels = $1200 Misc. Add-Ons (Roll Pan, Fuel Cell, Posi) = $1000 So, ~$5500...and I still need paint/body work! But it's a labor of love as this truck is going NOWHERE, except to MY son. |
