Engine Casting number identifications

Can anybody tell me what size this motor is the casting number on the back of the block is 3970010 but that number could mean that it is an assortment of different motors the number that is in front of the head is K04 24 TBB . If anyone can tell me what this motor is I would appreciate it. I think that it is a 327 because the heads are off a 62-64 327 but I am not sure about the block.

that is the exact number on my 300 horse 4 bolt main 350 in my monte. 3970010 could either be a 2 bolt main 350 or a 4 bolt main 350 (69-79 chevrolet, chevelle monte carlo and truck)

Yes, you have the typical 69-80 350 that many of us have. Mine turned out to be a 1980 350. The key is narrowing it down with the stamped code and the casting date.

The "K" tells you it was produced in St. Catherines, Ontario (McKinnon Industries Canada), on April 24th.

You could get the last digit of the year (hopefully a "0" or a "9" for 1970 or 1979) by finding the casting date next to the casting number. It should look something like "D249" if it was April 24th 1979, or "D240" for April 24th 1970.
