Duh, No wonder...lol
Well, I adjusted the valves today. That ticking noise was really getting to me. I did it the messy way (engine running).
Anyway, I thought I'd take it down the street and back to see how it was running after I finished the ajustment. I floored it and it just did not seem to want to get up to speed. I turned around and came back..same thing. I pulled back into the garage, shut it off, and went to put the parking brake on....  It was still on from before. released the parking brake and took it back down the street...much better....

I've done the same thing before. Parked on a hill and hit the E brake before putting it in park. Came back out and I put it in reverse and stepped on the gas and it started chugging like I was climbing the hill and it kept doing it. Started down the street and when I stopped at a stop sign I smelled this metal-on-metal burning smell. When I opened the door to go check whatever it was I looked down and saw the E brake was engaged. The drums go so hot it melted the black rubber plugs that were in the adjusting holes!

my ebrake sucks and ive driven with it on a couple times, all i notice is its holding back just a little bit

i left it on in my mom's truck and the instrument cluster told her what was going on so she ran inside to me and told me the problem (she knew the parking brake was engaged) so i said release it... she said i don't know where it's at!
