Rear light wiring
ok i have pics for better explanation. i have no side markers so i am missing 2 brown wires which is ok, and i have a 4 way junction of the other brown wires. 1 goes to the license plate, one to the left tail, one to the right and the 4th comes from the plug. do i need a 5th brown wire to ground the harness? currently i have no ground and thought that would be the place to put it if needed.
here's what i have now is this what it should look like? thanks |

Re: Rear light wiring
If you ground the brown wire, you will blow the fuse.
The lights are grounded through the metal bucket.... or what ever you want to call the lamp assembly. |

Re: Rear light wiring
The reason the side markers carry a separate ground wire is that they are plastic. The tailight and backup light buckets are steel, they are self grounding like Andy said.
