Seat Question
Ok my parents said they will re-cover my seat for me for x-mas. But I was reading a truckin magazine today and a guy had a truck with a bench seat from a caddillac that had a fold down arm rest in the middle. Do any of you know what year that might be? Or of any other plain jane bench seats with a middle arm rest like that?

Don't know about the Caddy, but you can take an arm rest from the back seat of sedans and graft it into your seat. I've done it 3-4 times. Works great. You can place the armrest of center if you like it closer to you.

Some 88 and up pickup bench seats have a fold down armrest also.

Bonspeed Palisade 20x12 in rear w/335/30/20 and 20x8.5 front w/245/40/20. 5/8 drop with Belltech springs/DJM spindles/drop shocks. I bought a seat from a 2004 Buick LeSabre, with leather, same as Park Avenue. Caddy's have an embroidered wreath logo. Those darn cheaper Buick's just don't get to have a logo. Full electric both sides, heated, etc. Cool flip-down console/cupholder, etc as part of the driver's side.
$ 200 pulled at salvage yard. Need to fab up some simple brackets, and seriously re-inforce the truck floor for the load (rotating forward) possible from the integral seat belt in a front crash. Don't want to tear-loose at the rear, and punch down thru the floor or out the windshield at the front. Not planning for this to ever happen ......... but sure want to be prepared. Might be quite a ride, but I'll pass on that one. Haven't started the install yet, just enjoying looking at it in the shop floor, and planning how to do, til the weather's better. |
