Re: any dual shock pic's?
dual's = rough ride. I had them on my 77 when I first bought it..ouch. No need for them. One shock of good quality is more than enough in my opinion.
Most people run them just for looks, but I'm sure they sacrifice ride quality

Re: any dual shock pic's?
I believe some people drill holes in the second shock to relieve the gas pressure to make it useless and not hurt the ride. It would only be for looks after that.

Re: any dual shock pic's?
You can actually buy shocks that are designed to be used as a pair. If you use a pair that aren't designed to be used as a pair, you definitely get a rough ride.
I don't recall seeing any shots of a first gen with dual shocks that I could dig up for you.

Re: any dual shock pic's?
I read on CK5.com once, that someone was using ford f150 shock towers to run dual shocks. I don't know if they uses an aftermarket shock hoop or if it was a stock f150 setup.
Check the forums on CK5.com and Pirate4x4.com.

Re: any dual shock pic's?
I don't run dual shocks but my Blazer has the bracket for it.
On the left side of the pic. the inner bracket is the factory piece and the outer one is the dealer installed one. It's welded on.

Re: any dual shock pic's?
The lines are probably fuel lines for his TPI system.

Here's a couple of pics of the factory setup used in about 85-87 or so.

When I redid my trans lines I didn't want to mess around trying to get them to fit on the inside rail...so I ran them on the outside. Made up some stainless covered rubber lines to join the hard lines between body panels(frame to rad. core, frame to trans.)
