Substitute '98 Suburban 2nd seat for '69 bench??
I know I have seen pictures on here where someone installed the 2nd row seat out of a Sub/Tahoe/Yukon, in place of the bench seat in a 67-72 cab.
I just picked up a tan leather 2nd row seat, last night, for $125!! So, before I screw up, I'd like to correspond with whoever has done the conversion. What I'd prefer is to trade it for a 40/20/40 out of a '96-98.

Ask "Putter" on this board. He did it and has pictures. or search for his threads and you will find it.

Usually it ends up as the second seat in a 67-72 burb, but you could put it in as the bench in a truck. I'd like to have it is you decide to sell it? I am looking at buying a 40/20/40 in Alabama, I might swap you. PM me and we can figure out a deal. mike |

Re: Substitute '98 Suburban 2nd seat for '69 bench??
I installed a second row '98 Suburban seat in my pickup. Mine is the one with the flip out arm rest/cup holder thingie. It worked out so well that GMan69 did the exact same thing in his. I will be happy to tell you anything you want to know about it or mounting it if you plan to install it. Rides like a dream!!!
Holler at me via PM, or call me @ 601-953-ERIC Please excuse the mess, I just ordered carpet and this is a replacement cab. I am just finishing up the swap!!! Later, ERIC

Here is the link to the same seats in the green (original) cab.
Seats in original cab YANK, you didn't see one in the yard Saturday? They are a pretty regular item out there. (Hey, can I copy your filler door??? I have it figured out in my head!!)

Re: Substitute '98 Suburban 2nd seat for '69 bench??
I also followed Putter's lead and installed the second row from a 99 Burb.
I have used them in the truck now for about 3 months and they are great!! I used the seat belts from the 99 also, so I have 3 point belts on each side and lap belt in the middle. I also removed the in cab tank, but it isn't necessary for seat fitment....

Re: Substitute '98 Suburban 2nd seat for '69 bench??
Hey guys, digging up an old thread...
I have the same seats for my '69. When I set them in the cab I feel like my head is going to hit the roof. I should note that I am 6' and 250 lbs. Any ideas about cutting the seat brackets down? Suggestions are thanked in advance.

Re: Substitute '98 Suburban 2nd seat for '69 bench??
Geeze, I was surprised when I opened this post up. I knew I had asked about this before, so it's good to jog my feeble memory.
By the way, I'm gonna "color" my seats to match/coordinate with the red/black theme. I thought I was gonna dye them, but the company in L.A. that I talked with said it isn't a dye, but a re-color that I'll be doing. Whatcha think about red everywhere except the inset of the back and bottom? That's where my thought process is headed. I once considered solid red, but I think the red/black oughta do it just fine.
