Need clarification re: my tilt column for sale
I have a board member interested in my column, but he is concerned it might be a converted van unit because of the clipped plug wires. To my knowledge the stubby splined end would indicate a true truck tilt, and I see no evidence of safety switch relocation, but I thought I would see what you board members thought. What do I have?? Thanks.

looks like the real deal.
The harness is probably fropm some one installing a replacement turn signal switch and not having an adapter to use. |

Looks right to me also.....The van tilts have the neutral switch further up on the column. At least mine did.......

You`re right,it`s a truck unit with questionable wiring. As you described in your listing.

Take a look at the neutral safety switch and see how its hooked into the switch..if its a tab thats been folded back from the original inner tube into a grooved switch tab ...well then its original. It looks original to me from what I see here. Rod

Re: Need clarification re: my tilt column for sale
My truck's original column had the hack-n-tap done to the harness. Someone replaced the column switch but couldn't find the half-moon style plug, so they hacked it. That's what you have there.

Re: Need clarification re: my tilt column for sale
Some people just dont know how to get the switch plug through the column..so they hack it and attach it after...thats what I see there. So I agree with 69TowRig on that.

Re: Need clarification re: my tilt column for sale
If you ever have seen the van and truck tilts together would never forget the differences. Like said above....The short splined shaft is a truck and the position of the neutral safety switch is also a truck. Maybe we need to get someone who has a pic of the two side by side and keep it posted in a sticky. Heck there might be a pic in the FAQs
P.S. I just installed a van tilt in my truck a couple of weeks ago so I know the one you have there is a truck!
