Is it Posi or limited slip?
Im just curious obviously you know I have 97 silverado with the 5.7 just wondering if they have a limited slip or posi rear end, is there a way I can tell by the vin or number anywhere? Reason why Im asking went out raised som
e hell tonight of course on my new tires cause Im numb like that but everytime I power braked I caught posi which kinda surprised me, and held it until the tires locked so I got curious so any info will be good thanks

I believe limited slip and posi are the same thing. Just different names.
This is from "CHRISMAN Differentials" "There is no difference between a limited slip and a Posi. It’s just a different terminology used by each manufacturer. Posi originally came from the GM-trademarked Posi-Traction."

Look in your glovebox for a G80, that is the RPO for locking rear. Be careful tho, the light duty rears don't like spinning the tires other than ice....they like to grenade, hence the nickname Grenadelok.
