Lil bit of progress this weekend.

Took off work on Friday and motored the cab to Orlando. A company called Blast Off media blasted and then Aluminum Oxide Blasted it. I hafta say I was pretty impressed. We got it back to my buddy's shop and after taking care of a few issues we got it in expoxy primer then he shot the firewall and interior. The top is actually going to be a dark blue, he forgot and painted the windshild post in silver. So that'll hafta be sanded and reshot. I had a hard time deciding to just go with a black engine bay, but it'll be ahelluva lot easier down the road if I decide to change exterior colors.

Looks great. Curious as to what the blasting cost you? Thanks.

Re: Lil bit of progress this weekend.

Thanks fellas - it's gonna be a long process... little by little if you will. It's been one headache after another from the get go. First off, when I purchased the truck and had it shipped down from NC (non board member) it was supposed to be rust free - I think what he really meant to say is that he had it professionally dipped in bondo. Not being a body guy it was more than I could handle. Located this cab, which was in primer and suposed to be ready for paint. Drove 18hrs round trip to pick it up only to find it had major issues as well. New rockers, cab corners, and body mounts had all been put in completely wrong and nothing lined up - I feel Grendel's pain! Luckily I made a friend in the local area that does body work and is helping me redo this one in trade for my old one.

Re: Lil bit of progress this weekend.

Are you sure you want it to be blue? That silver looks pretty darn good. Although I would paint it body color under the hood too....

LOL! Thanks Trux! This is the color scheme I'm going for just a darker on both top and bottom.

Jimbotronics, did you do that yourself with the digital paintbooth software? I am looking at buying a copy of it. I found it online for about $50 at http://www.bigestores.com/siteid16/d...ProductID=8129
