Alarm Help - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey I usaully hang around on the 73-87 side but I need help on my sons 01. He has the factory alarm and it keeps going off with no one triggering it. I believe there must be some sort of short somewhere but am puzzled at where to begin looking or if it is some of other problem that you couls help me with.
I pulled the fuse for the horn in the meantime and manually loked the door to by-pass setting the alarm but i'm not sure if this will cause other problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
