re-wire for guage cluster

ok, So I'm moving wires around in the loom plug for my guages, ( converting from idiot light set up) as per intructions from GMC pauls web site. Everything is goin sweet. But I end up with a dark brown wire that I'm not sure where it goes. The intructions refer to a black wire with a brown stripe , or visa versa. goes in one of the holes.. It's a 67 GMC. Can I safely assume the dark brown wire with no stripe is the one referd to? Just to make things intresting, I can't remember which # position this wire came from.. Anyone who knows I'd appreciate your assistance.
