Shift pointer on tilt column broke

The pointer on my new-only-to-me tilt column is broke off. How in the heck can I change that little guy out? It's a '71 truck column.

Re: Shift pointer on tilt column broke

You need to take the indicator loose because the pointer clips under it and then the other end just slides into the groove on the column. That way the pointer can slide with the tilt movement.

Re: Shift pointer on tilt column broke

If the needle nose don't get it maybe you could screw a small screw into the plastic and pull.
