more wiring ?'s
ok so i got all the wiring done, except this little bundle. so far nothing is leading to the a/c compressor, and i thought this might be it, but it seems too short to run over to the passenger side. it has been cut, but this seems way too short. i got a red thick wire for power, a black for a ground, a blue possibly for remote, and a brown with a white stripe, which splits between 2 bundles. inside on the firewall the bundle goes to a relay. anybody know off the top of their head where these go? thanks

Re: more wiring ?'s
Looks like voltage reg. wires with plug cut off. Do you have internal regulated Alt?

Re: more wiring ?'s
Before I rewired my truck I had those wires bunded up and taped to the brake support rod on the fire wall...

Re: more wiring ?'s
My '72 had those wires. I'm pretty sure they connect to a solenoid on the carburetor and a switch on the transmission. The solenoid raises the idle speed when coasting down the road. It's supposed to be some sort of emissions control. There should be a relay mounted on the inside of your firewall near your horn relay that connects to the wires. I removed the relay and the wires and ran a cruise control harness through the firewall hole.
There should be a single green wire for your A/C pump clutch that runs through the firewall over on the passenger side. The connector on the end of the green wire should have two terminals. The second terminal has a black ground wire coming out of it that gets mounted to the A/C pump bracket. There should be what looks like a diode to me connecting the two terminals of the connector. I tried replying to this thread earlier this week, but we were at my parents' house for Thanksgiving and my dad's Mac wouldn't let me reply for some strange reason. Re: more wiring ?'s
hey thanks, that's what i was waiting for. i actually found that green wire youwere talking about yesterday, or the day before, i had it wrapped around the firewall, laying on the cab floor so i didn't see it. i'm leaving those wires off for now, i should recieve a factory assembly manual and shop manual in the mail tomorrow, hopefully i'll get some good diagrams. thanks

Re: more wiring ?'s
I have a schematic that shows the carb solenoid wiring. If your manuals don't show it, I can scan the schematic for you.
