Help on deciding on a Headunit

Well the PO cut my dash, so its not like I would be cutting up a perfectly good dash. So which one looks the best to you?

Which one would you pick?

Re: Help on deciding on a Headunit

I like the second one, but I'm also a huge Alpine fan. The third one is probably nice too, but I've heard a lot of people don't like the slidebar for one reason or another. I haven't had experience with it myself.

I too like pioneer, and with the exception of there bottom of the line stuff, have been more than pleased with there equipment.
Alpine on the otherhand... I have only had 2 of there stereos and both died prematurly IMO.

Re: Help on deciding on a Headunit

Make that 3 for the Pioneer. Alpine is good and I liked the ones I have had, but I always felt I got a better deal and performance with Pioneer.

Re: Help on deciding on a Headunit

I too prefer kenwood stuff, here is a pic. of the head unit I just ordered, I like the dual knobs.....even though you have to cut the dash (or its already cut) its a nice throw-back to what was originally there....I will post pics when I get mine mounted.

Re: Help on deciding on a Headunit

I have the JVC KD-G510 Head unit. I am very pleased with it. The nicest feature for me is the AUX input on the face of the unit for my MP3 player. (easy access).

Re: Help on deciding on a Headunit

I agree. I like the second one, personally, just to add my two cents. As for that slider dealy, they're alright. Kinda tricky at first, me and one of my good buds went to my other buddy's folks' stereo store and played with one of them for a while. At first, it would take most people a little bit of concentration to play with it and adjust it, so probably not a good one if you're tooling down the road and in need of adjusting your stereo.

Re: Help on deciding on a Headunit

I have not ever had a Pioneer because like rick980, I don't think they have a very full sound. So my vote is with the Alpine. I have had Clarion, Kenwood, JVC, but I have always gone back to the Alpine. Awsome sound, great looks, and very userfriendly.
