Hydroboost for our trucks

I was reading an article in a magazine last night. Then I hit the web. I found a company that makes a really nice kit with all new parts. Just thought I would share. I think I want ot go this route after I change the rears to disc.

Re: Hydroboost for our trucks

Drawbacks.... Not Cheap. About $600 for our trucks with a billet mounting plate and all the braided hoses. . . And you have to make sure your power steering pump in in good shape!

I am planning a 402 swap and this sounded like a nice upgrade. Gives more room for tall valve covers. I am working on rear disc brakes first...

The 4X guys love Hydro brakes... they have little or no vaccume at low speed rock crawling ... or with that BIG cam ....

I just thought I would throw the idea out there ... see what every one thought ....

Re: Hydroboost for our trucks

my Hydroboost and lines are from an 82 Impala diesel, since I run disc on rear the last pick is a 76 corvette master cylinder --- this hydroboost takes a shallow rod -- others will differ- a 79 truck mc works. The lines are metric for the 82 Hydro so depending on your pump and gear --you may have to make their end IFF--it is 3/8" line --easy enough.

Re: Hydroboost for our trucks

Paul at Hydratech is a good guy and has excellent customer service. I have not dealt with him directly but I know quite a few people with his product. He is also a member of Pro-Touring.com where I also frequent. I plan on running his setup on my '68 Camaro and possibly on my '69 K5.

Re: Hydroboost for our trucks

I have the hydroboost set up from a 2002 silverado (4 wheel disc) and Dennis was nice enough to send me some cad drawing for the rear disc brakes plus a parts list, also followed his for the front. It should stop like my 2004 Avalanche! sweet!

Re: Hydroboost for our trucks

I just got a used setup for my 69 rollback project in my avatar...I am planning on getting it done soon...It is a 77 motorhome chassis with factory rear disk brakes...so the hydraboot is the way to go....
