ralley wheels

I was looking in the CPP catalog will those 3 inch deep trim rings fit on all ralley rims? Also those baby moon centers will they fit on any ralley if you remove the other center cap?

Thanks

Re: ralley wheels

I think the 3" ring only fits the 8" wide version. Not sure about the baby moons.

Re: ralley wheels

An 8" rim actually measures 9 1/4" lip to lip

Re: ralley wheels

If you have the wide version of the rally which you probably do, then it will work.

Re: ralley wheels

Just me probably and may depend on the type of ring, but I have 15x8 vette ralleys on my 67 and I did not like the appearance of the 3" rings. Covered up nearly everything. I now run like 2.5 or so. If possible you might try various depths before you buy if allowed.

Re: ralley wheels

dennis what is the differance between the vette and regular rallyes? Also in that pic is that the 2.5 inch ones? Mine now cover none of the inside lip(from stem in) My inside lip(for lack of a better term) is like 3 inches wide will center caps like you have fit on all rallye rims? Thanks for your help.

Re: ralley wheels

76Bonanza, I beleive if you have chevy truck 6 or 5 lug ralleys that the oem stainless rings are about 2.5" and I think the inside lip lays flatter on the inside of the rim. I was disappointed in my aftermarket 3" stainless rims because they are more cone-like and give the appearance of a smaller center in the wheel.

The 2.5 " ones I have now really do not suit me either. I wish I had the chevy 6 lug 4wd drive oem rings like was on one of my previous vehicles as in the 2nd pic below.

The pic below is one of my 3" aftermarket rings which is still new along with the other 3 still in the box.

Also, I do not think my disc brake center caps will fit on the oem truck ralleys.

Re: ralley wheels

kelsfine69 -- how much back spacing are on your 12" ralleys? Do your tires come close to hitting the fender lips? Are they corvette style ralleys? If Corvette style where did you get them?

Re: ralley wheels

dennis my centers are like your 4x4 but my trim rings do not pass the valve stems. Do you you know if any of the after market centers that cover the lugs will fit the oem rims?

Re: ralley wheels

Someone that has oem truck ralleys may know for sure. Your rim center cap probably is either held in place by the lug nuts or with 3 self tapping bolts. I have not seen a center cap for them that entirely covers the lug nuts.

Re: ralley wheels

76. The stock caps for your truck rallys are bolted on to the wheel. There are no bumps around the center for a moon type of cap to attach by. One option I've thought about is using the 88 up truck rally center cap on the older truck rally wheel. They just snap over the actual lug nuts and give the wheel just a little bit different look. I wish I had a pic to show you.
Also, have you been through the very first sticky at the top of the page yet? It's all about wheels n tires. Lots of good pics there. May help you.

I believe y'all are talking about 2 different style rims / centers , although they may be made to fit trucks . The truck ralley's have bolt on center caps and as far as i know will not accept a Corvette style center . The trim rings work on either rim , IMO the truck style look better on 67-72 than the flatter Vette style . You can usually find the the truck trim rings if you visit enough wrecking yards , check on Suburbans & Vans . The originals are still available , but expensive .

Re: ralley wheels

They still have the factory backspacing. I cut the rim in half and added 3" to the outside and welded it back together. No they dont rub.

Re: ralley wheels

chopped those are the corvette rims? That is the size trim rings I have and want to try larger ones to show less rim. Was hoping I could use those centers like yours but that looks like it is not going to be possible.

It is possible , it just costs more . My buddy has a set of 15x8 and 15x10 six lug Corvette style ralley wheels with the small cap that covers the lugs , like the earlier post. These were mounted on a 68 c10 that he sold. May be available .

Re: ralley wheels

I picked mine up a while back for $200 for the set of 4 corvette rallies. I have 7" for the front and 10" in the rear. I was unsure if I liked them at first, at least on our trucks, until I saw a pretty sweet truck with these on it. The guy I got them from has most sizes available, 6", 7", 8" and 10".
