here's some advice since your new to the board. a reason why you would want to see pictures of a wood bed would probably give some incentive for others to post. here's a link with tons of info on making a wood bed. it's a very usefull link. http://gmcpauls.com/47-72%20BedWood%20Info.htm |

Re: wood bed
Are you going for cheap or show quality? Stepside of fleetside? Welcome to the board from the Upstate sc. My truck has 8 year old deck boards, it will never be a show truck, they serve their purpose.

Re: wood bed
Okay, my turn. I have three for you guys. The first is of the sheet of plywood laying in the bed when I purchased the truck. The second is the mahogany stained oak kit with white strips that I had up until Spring. The third is of the new bed wood kit and strips that I installed last week when the truck came out of the bodyshop. I went a little lighter this time around.

Re: wood bed
Here's mine, one coat of stain, six coats of marine polyurethane and two days of sanding and polishing. I hope it lasts a good long time.

Re: wood bed
I used 3m polishing compound & set my polisher speed to 1400. Just took my time, the boards that still had trash I resanded & polished again.

Re: wood bed
N2TRUX,
That is one fine looking bed. The craftsmanship of that in-lay is incredible. I can appreciate the attention to detail. Outstanding. Anybody got other pics like that?
