Rhino Lining Done!

I brought my truck down to the Rhino Lining today to get the colormatch. This was the third try at it. The first time they were out of the white pigment. The second time I sat there for an hour and a half before they told me they needed me to paint some extra stuff on it.

Overall I'm pleased with it. It sure is shiny. One of the things I wished I had the school do was to shave my stake pockets because I think they show up a lot more. I posted a thread last night about stake hole covers but haven't received a response yet. I'm trying to find some chrome ones.

But of course there is bad news. My dash lights wouldn't work when I left the place(after I FINALLY got them to work last night) and I blew the tail light fuse so I had no brake lights or tail lights. At least this damn thing is consistent on it's electrical crap-It's all crap!

Re: Rhino Lining Done!

Looks great, I had no idea they could shoot silver liner. Are you looking for the stake hole covers that are chrome with a hidden hook which pivots out when you need them? Or are you looking for a smooth cover for the holes?

Re: Rhino Lining Done!

I'm looking for some smooth chrome ones if at all possible. I'd rather go without if I have to go with the ones with the hook.

Re: Rhino Lining Done!

Y69,

I believe JC Whitney has those covers. I would probably just ask the body shop to weld them in and repaint the tops of the bedside, they could do it in a couple of days. Also, it would probably be worth the effort to pull your rear fenders and have them linered. Since there is no inner fender, this will provide you protection from rocks. I did the underneath of all my fenders (cab and bed also) on my 1948, almost 10K miles and no stars in fenders.

Looks better every time you post, can not wait to see it...
May look at Auto zone, they have the polished SS ones that the hooks recess to give a smooth look when not in use.

Re: Rhino Lining Done!

Thanks for all the kind words. I might look into the herculiner for the underside of the rear fenders.

Still no fuel gauge. Giving up for a few weeks. Probably for the winter. I say that and I'll get an itch next week and start fooling with it again.

Originally it was a wood bed, well it was a plywood bed when I got it. Had a guy here in town cut me a piece of steel and since only 1 of my cross sills were left he had the machine cut and measure the holes for some more that he made for me.

It will be in Maggie Valley, probably with the fuel gauge still not working.
