Pics of my new 69 CST
OK so here is my new-to-me 1969 CST Blazer I just got today....it is hard to tell from the pics I have because this girl was sitting who knows how long under a tarp.........There is one pic that shows a fan assembly behind the drivers side seat that according to the old guy I got this from, was a factory option. It has the fan, a heater core and two heater hoses running up to a T in the engine compartment which attaches to the regular heater hose system. It is switchable from the dash controls and is maybe the first attempt at rear passenger climate control. Has anyone seen this before? Is this BS or what? the old guy was adament it is legit. Also, aside from the T-handle missing and the glass broken, the fiberglass shell on the hatch and everything else is perfect...the shell has NO CRACKS. putting a screw driver in the hole mechanism where the T-Handle was results in perfect latch and unlatch operation! I paid $800.00 bones for this....almost ZERO rust!

Re: Pics of my new 69 CST
Oops, didn't get the pics of the mystery rear heating...also re-posting the dash control. it is the beige plastic on-off control...I am guessing the toggle switch above was done when the aftermarket one failed??? Dang I love getting a new truck and finding out what people did...kind of like forensics!!

Re: Pics of my new 69 CST
Looks like it is in good shape. Is the rear heater the same as those for the suburbans? Looks like it has hoses going to the engine.
What are the seats out of?

Re: Pics of my new 69 CST
Great find---. Have fun with it as it looks to have lots of potential for a easy restoration. As far as rust goes, I wouldn't assume the outer rockers are the only issue. KEY spot is the lower leading edge of the rear quarters. It's a hard area to see well and it's the first place to rust out even on California Blazers.
Think I will buy some stock in POR15 as it looks like you will probably be investing in some to keep it solid!! Isn't it amazing how many Blazers/Jimmy's have the antenna mounts for a CB!! I think the more then half I see have it!! As far as unique options that the "original owners" swear were factory--my rule of thumb is if the build sheet on the glove box door matches the Vin and says nothing about an option, then it didn't leave the plant that way. There were lots of dealer added options (some GM and some not) that found their way onto new vehicles so that may be why the owner says it came that way new. (:>) |

Interesting, it looks like the inside of your top is painted the body color

Re: Pics of my new 69 CST
Nice find, great price!
LUV, in a post awhile back regarding a '69 on ebay, the matching color of inside the top was discussed. I think the result was that in'69 that's what they did, color matched to outside.

Re: Pics of my new 69 CST
I don't think the heater is original but it may have been dealer installed. Get's mighty cold up there in Id. I would tend to think that is why the rear heater was installed. Great looking Blazer, keep us up to date on your progress.
